Los Alamos Little Theatre's
Performing Arts Center

Since 1972 LALT volunteers have kept the Performing Arts Center painted, patched, carpeted, lighted, and plumbed. And that's just the background work so that actors, directors, set designers and builders, musicians, dancers, lighting designers, and sound specialists have a place to work their creative magic for audiences to enjoy.

Performing Arts Center (1971 - Present)

The volunteer "weekly weeders" maintain the landscaping, including the building's designation as a stop on the Los Alamos Historical Walking Tour.

Recreation Hall (???? - 1971)

In 1971 the Los Alamos County "Rec Hall" was scheduled to be torn down. Instead, LALT volunteers leased the building from the county and turned it into a fine community theater space. A lease arrangement continues to this day.

East Cafeteria (???? - ????)

Originally a 1940s Army cafeteria, the building now houses the September-through-May season as well as the Los Alamos Folk Dancers (since 1948!), Christen Howell's dance classes, and other community performing arts activities.
