Cowboy Poet: A C&W Musical

AUDITIONS for the May production will be held DECEMBER 12 & 13 at 7 p.m. in the LALT Green Room.
UPDATE: December 12 auditions cancelled due to weather.
The revised plan is for auditions to be held on December 13 and 14 (Tuesday and Wednesday) at 7.

Please prepare two songs: one up-tempo & one ballad. Wear comfortable clothes as the audition will involve dancing.

Sides will be provided for cold readings from the script.

Pre-audition workshop December 11 6-9 p.m. Hear the story, learn the audition dance, and sing a song from the show. Contact Roxanne Tapia (rox@penguinmail.com) for more information. Scripts are available at Mesa Public Library for overnight checkout

WYATT RUGOSA. Cowboy Poet Laureate of New Mexico. Magnetic, conflicted, with a lived-in face and a bit too much life experience. Baritone. 50s-60s. A2-G4
GRACE GRANGE HUNDERTMARK. Foundation for New Mexico Adult Literacy (FiNAL) is her baby, widowed last year, gracious, generous, at a fork in the road. Mezzo. 50s. Eb3-C5
LUPE ROYBAL. Grace's maid and confidante, wise as well as smart (mouthed). Mezzo. 40s-70s. G3-Eb5
AILEEN HUNDERTMARK JOHNSON. Rabelaisian, Texan through-and-through, always enjoys her self, Grace's next-door neighbor. Contralto. Mid-late 60s. Eb3-C5
DIANA ARCHULETA. Hispanic, dynamic, feisty, with a past. Soprano. 40s. Ab3-G5
LINDSAY LOPEZ. FiNAL's pride-and-joy, budding poet. Ambitious, enthusiastic. Alto belt. 20s. Ab3-Eb5

Setting/Time: The action occurs in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in a dance hall and the homes of two wealthy women, during the most recent October.
